Volunteer Educator
Join the Friends of the Rainforest educator team! We are looking for fun, engaging, passionate volunteers to share their knowledge of rainforest ecology and get students involved in environmental advocacy. Youth advocacy is at the core of our story. Friends of the Rainforest supports conservation, research, and education in the Children's Eternal Rainforest in Costa Rica, a massive preserve started by a second-grade class and expanded by the efforts of children across the world. Our lessons focus on different topics in rainforest ecology and give kids tools to teach their community how to be allies to the rainforest.
When you sign up for this volunteer opportunity, we will be in touch about scheduling roughly hour-long sessions that will give volunteers the background information, curriculum, and facilitation techniques they will need to lead one or two of our lessons in the classroom. Volunteers will be able to co-teach with staff or a veteran volunteer until they are comfortable leading the lesson on their own. Volunteer educators must be able to pass a background check and must be 18+ to solo teach. You will be added to a list of volunteers and can build the schedule that works for you as lessons are booked through our website.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
